• Welcome

Hi, my name is Liesel. Welcome to my blog. I am a twenty-something graduate student and newlywed living in the Midwest. For the first time in my life, I am able to understand and fully feel the effects of a recession including tightened budgets, unemployment, and rampant fear. I come here to vent and deal with the frustration of it all. This is also a chronicle of my life with my husband, Barrett, and the three jerks: our dogs, Molly, Mikey, and Joey. I love feedback so please feel free to leave a comment or send an email.
  • I’m currently reading…

The Story of Edgar Sawtelle by David Wroblewski. I gave this book to both my mother and my mother-in-law for Christmas. I know, that means I had not read it yet. But it was on Oprah's Book Club and I'm all about letting Oprah make big decisions for me.

I love that the collars are super affordable compared to pricier, and not as adorable, alternatives at most dog boutiques. Our dogs have amassed quite [...]

Just a little sprinkle.

I have been working on a couple of posts the last couple of days but my progress has been hampered by my need to share with you of how in awe of Mother Nature I am. We live in tornado alley so this time of year is always a bit interesting. For those of you [...]

The blogging phenomenon

I have been thinking a lot about the idea of blogging, what it means, and why so many people do it (myself included, obviously). I have heard a lot of theories that people who blog must have a large ego because one would have to to think their life is so interesting that perfect strangers [...]

The Best Accessories

Most people get a certain pet for the temperament or qualities of a particular breed.
We choose pets to match our furnishings.
Sometimes, when I walk in our bedroom, I have to look twice to be sure it’s a dog and not a pillow.
We’ve done a pretty good job, don’t you think?

JOB – finally!

Barrett has landed a job! I won’t post tons of details here as I am always concerned about maintaining our privacy on line. I will tell you, however, that it is in sales. While it is not necessarily his dream job, there are lots of opportunities for moving up the ladder and taking managerial positions [...]
